The “Masterplan Dynamic Colors” project is located in the Foshan area, in the east side of China, a strongly industrialized site tied to the production of ceramic material.
The location's characteristics have determined the designing development which focused on two preconditions:
1.An important element to think about was the frontal presence of a significant building. This condition has made us think about the development of a public green space bordered by the two buildings.
2.The different requested intended uses - from the commercial to the managerial, from the residential to the functional - have lead us to the development of a dynamic and flexible project where different functions with the same architectural language could interact.
The design's goal was to be able to organize a great variety of complex functions in a simple and neat conjunction, capable of allowing an easy read of the architectural building. The architectural concept is inspired by Piet Mondrian, the Dutch painter whose main themes were the breakdown into simple and neat shapes in accordance with orthogonal grids and the study of colours.
In our building the colour - a combination of glass and ceramic - aims to identify the single parts by lightening the mass of the buildings.
