The park space is conceived as a square which, preserving the tree and shrub plants, winds up to the edge of the building, from the railway station to the commercial and residential buildings on the perimeter. The square is characterized by a division of spaces with green screens arranged vertically to the station building, designed to allow an overall view of the station itself or of the homes located on the opposite side, without elements that could hide the view. From the study carried out, a simple, dynamic surface comes to life, characterized by paths orthogonal to the facade of the station interposed with internal spaces where various activities can be carried out, which combines proportion, perspective and aesthetics. The park becomes an exhibition space divided by green diaphragms, such as to generate perspectives, visual cones, within which areas for leisure, cultural activities, sports and games are contained. Everything is not intended to be a simple idea of an urban aspect, but rather a creative combination generated by the interpretation of the place.
The scheme takes inspiration from the Italian garden characterized by the following rules:
- geometric shapes, order and symmetry
- presence of sculptures and bodies of water.
- provides that the view towards the outside or from the outside towards the building must never be hidden.
-combinations of flooring materials
The park reinterprets, in a contemporary style, the principles of classical composition made of symmetries, proportions and relationships. From an accessibility point of view, the area represents an opportunity as pedestrian flows can be generated in which the park is crossed daily from the station towards the town and vice versa, making the park alive at any time of the day. The configuration of the park is linked to the appropriation of the users, in fact spatial flexibility was favored for both permanent and temporary activities.
